The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Employment Agency (NYEA), Malik Basintale, has announced that 2,000 young people have begun reporting to their designated training centres across the country to start training as Community Medical First Responders.
The trainees form part of the first batch of 6,000 youth to be enrolled in the programme, which seeks to train Ambulance Service Assistants to strengthen emergency medical response nationwide.
According to Basintale, the initiative marks the first of its kind under the NYEA.
It is expected to create a new pipeline of skilled responders who will support the Ghana National Ambulance Service in saving lives. "This is a groundbreaking intervention, and I wish all trainees the very best as they undergo this important training," he said.
