The Adansi Traditional Council has urged the government to transform the Sikaman Brofoyedru helicopter crash site in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region into a tourist attraction.

The appeal was made during a visit to the site to perform final cleansing rituals for those involved in recovering the remains of eight state officials and military officers who perished in the crash on August 6, 2025.

According to a report by adomonline.com, the Adansi Akyeamehene, Nana Kusi Anowuo, explained that the rituals were conducted to safeguard participants from potential spiritual consequences.

He emphasised the site's historical and cultural significance and proposed its preservation as a national heritage site. "A monument should be erected here to honor the memory of the fallen eight and serve as a reminder for future generations," Nana Anowuo stated.
