An update issued on Friday, August 29, 2025, has indicated that the donations made towards the Children's Support Fund for the children of the victims of the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash, received between August 19 and 28, has amounted to GH¢3.5 million.
Among the institutional donors are Ghana Airport Company Limited, ARB Apex Bank PLC, STL Foundation, Olam Agric, Fidelity Bank, ADB Bank, GLICO General Insurance, and the National Insurance Commission.
Private citizens, including Kennedy Hedoe, Peter Adongo, Mensah Michael, Appaul Wiredu Lateef, Samuel Hodalor, and Dauda Iddi, have also made contributions to the fund. "Total donations received now amount to: GH¢3,576,600.00 and US$20,000.00", the statement indicated.
Dr Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Presidential Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, in a statement, noted that donations continue to be received through Stanbic Bank Ghana accounts dedicated to the fund, with weekly updates to ensure transparency. "Donations may be made to the Fund via the following Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts (Stanbic Heights Branch, Accra): Ghana Cedi (GHS) Account: 9040013628372, US Dollar (USD) Account: 9040013628534," the statement said.
