The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has handed over ICT and office equipment worth over USD 180,000 to the Legal Aid Commission (LAC) as part of efforts to strengthen access to justice for poor and vulnerable groups across Ghana.
The handover follows a comprehensive gap assessment conducted across 10 regional and 6 district offices of the Commission under the Strengthening Legal Aid Delivery for Improved Access to Justice for the poor and vulnerable in Ghana project, funded by the Government of the United States of America.
The assessment revealed critical infrastructure and capacity gaps that hindered the Legal Aid Commission's ability to deliver timely and effective legal aid services.
In response, UNDP, with U.S.
