The All People's Congress (APC) has announced that it will present a candidate to represent the party in the Tamale Central by-election scheduled for September 30, 2025.
In a statement issued by the party's Communications Directorate on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the party emphasised the importance of participating in the election.
According to the statement, the people of the Tamale Central constituency deserve a capable leader who can effectively represent their interests in Parliament and provide strong leadership.
Though the party did not provide details on the candidate or when they will present them, it stated that the decision came after broader consultations and considerations of the constituency's needs. "The All People's Congress (APC), under the leadership of Alhaji Dr Hassan Ayariga, wishes to officially announce its decision to present a candidate to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Tamale Central Constituency," portions of the statement read. "After careful consideration and broad consultations with the national and constituency leadership of the party, the APC is convinced that Tamale Central deserves strong, credible, and people-centered representation in Parliament.
