Interim Committee member of Asante Kotoko, Kwesi Appiah, has downplayed concerns over the club's struggles in the just-ended GHALCA Top 4 tournament. The Porcupine Warriors ended their campaign without a win after three games.
The Reds opened their campaign with a dramatic 2-1 defeat against Bibiani GoldStars before losing to Heart of Lions on penalty shootouts after a 1-1 drawn game.
Kotoko wrapped up their games with a 2-0 defeat against rivals, Hearts of Oak, to finish the pre-season games at the bottom.
Speaking TO Ghanasportspage.com, Appiah stressed that the tournament's primary value lies in giving the team competitive minutes ahead of the new season. "Even if we lose 10-0, I don't care," Appiah said. "The most important thing is that they are playing games. "If I were Karim Zito, I would have used the youth team for the tournament.
