The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service have renewed their commitment to working hand in hand to protect the integrity of Ghana football.

This was the focus when GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the CID, COP Lydia Yaa Donkor, at the Police Headquarters in Accra on Monday, August 25, 2025.

With the 2025/26 season approaching, discussions centered on tackling some of the game's biggest threats—match manipulation, illegal betting and hooliganism.

President Simeon-Okraku congratulated COP Donkor on her elevation and praised her past contributions to football as Head of Safety and Security at the GFA.
