The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has alleged that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has procured uniforms for its internal security personnel ahead of the upcoming Akwatia by-election.

He claimed that these operatives are expected to pose as state security officers on election day to influence the outcome of the poll in favour of the NDC. "We have heard that they have sewn some uniforms for their security persons to go to Akwatia and cause mayhem.

They should not bring people in the name of security, put uniforms on them and arm them to move around.

We are very aware, and we know the uniforms they are going to use," he alleged on JoyNews' The Pulse on Monday, August 25.
