The Spain branch of the ruling (NDC) has condemned the recent attack on a nurse at the Ridge Hospital in Accra, describing the incident as "unacceptable." In a statement signed by the branch secretary, Hanson Dartey, on August 23, 2025, the group called on authorities to ensure that the young man involved in the attack, identified as Ralph, faces appropriate sanctions for his actions. "We strongly condemn the recent attack on nurses at the Ridge Hospital.
This incident is unacceptable, and we call on the authorities to take immediate action to hold those responsible accountable," the statement read.
While denouncing the assault, the NDC Spain Branch also acknowledged concerns about unprofessional attitudes among some health workers, stressing the need for reforms in patient care.
Dartey cited a case in which a relative of a branch member was poorly treated by a nurse who allegedly failed to take vital statistics and made disparaging remarks about the patient's condition.
