A popular car dealer, Dennis Osei Adu Gyamfi, also known as Nana Kwame, has been dragged to court for allegedly receiving a stolen vehicle, contrary to Section 146 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The Accra-based dealer is accused of dishonestly receiving a Mercedes Benz E350, with chassis number WDDZF8EB4LA725362, valued at GH¢700,000.

According to the prosecution, Gyamfi knew the car had been stolen in Canada and shipped to Ghana, but went ahead to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer.

Investigations revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen in Canada on April 27, 2023.
