Hearts of Oak have moved to reassure their fans after FIFA confirmed a three-window transfer ban on the club for failing to settle an outstanding debt owed to former Technical Director Rene Hiddink.

The sanction, which was confirmed in a letter from FIFA's Legal and Compliance Division dated 21 August 2025, prevents the Phobians from registering new players both locally and internationally.

The Ghana Football Association has been tasked to enforce the decision.

In an official statement released on 22 August, the club addressed the matter: "FIFA has confirmed the implementation of a registration ban on the club due to unresolved financial obligations.
