Farmers across the country have expressed outrage over comments made by the General Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), who allegedly referred to the Minister of Health as a "farmer" in what many describe as a derogatory and condescending manner.
In a strongly worded statement, the Chief Executive Officer of The Executive Farmer, Ibn Yameen Lukman, described the comments as "reckless, shameful, and an insult to hardworking farmers whose sweat sustains the nation." He added that; "Let's be clear: farming is not a fallback for the uneducated.
Farming is science, skill, resilience, and sacrifice.
It is the bedrock of every economy and the heartbeat of every household." He further emphasised the critical role farmers play in national development, stressing that without them, no sector of the economy can thrive. "Doctors, nurses, teachers, ministers, and every Ghanaian eat because farmers rise early, work the land, and produce the food that sustains us all.
