Manhyia in Kumasi has become the center of mourning today, Thursday, August 21, as the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, is being held. The solemn event has drawn thousands of mourners, including traditional leaders, politicians, business figures, and international diplomats.
Former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo are in attendance, alongside former Vice President Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira.
Ghana's Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is also present with other top political leaders.Almost all attendees are clad in black and red mourning cloths, as custom demands.
