Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia has publicly appealed to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to release Dancehall musician Shatta Wale, who is currently entangled in a legal tussle over a luxury car.   In a Facebook post, Sista Afia wrote: "EOCO PLEASE RELEASE OUR DANCEHALL KING FOR US WE BEG YOU WAAAAA🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 #freeshattawale"Her message comes at a time when scores of fans have been storming EOCO's offices in Accra, demanding the release of the award-winning artist.

Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, was detained on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as part of investigations into a Lamborghini Urus in his possession and issues relating to tax compliance.

He was later granted bail under strict conditions, including a GH₵10 million bond with two sureties, but EOCO stated that his release will only be finalized once all legal processes are completed.

Meanwhile, EOCO has clarified the circumstances surrounding the musician's detention.
