Following a presentation by the management of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital to a staff member who was allegedly physically assaulted by a social media activist and relatives of a patient at the hospital's Emergency Department on Sunday, August 17, 2025, reactions have emerged from some online users.

According to a social media post by Citi FM, shared via their X page, the hospital presented the victim (a nurse) with GH¢800 and a mobile phone.

The post read, "The Greater Accra Regional Hospital has presented a new phone and GH¢800 to the assaulted rotation nurse to replace what she lost during the mob attack at the Emergency Unit.

Management also offered additional financial support to aid her recovery." In response to the news, many online users expressed disbelief that only GH¢800 was given to the nurse, questioning whether such a sum was appropriate compensation if the assault indeed occurred.
