The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has revealed that it is investigating 67 major cases of suspected corruption and corruption-related offences involving several state institutions, state-owned enterprises, and private entities.
The OSP is the country's flagship anti-corruption institution, which functions as a specialised, autonomous investigative and prosecutorial agency, with its powers and mandate derived from the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959).
In its half-year update released on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the OSP noted that the investigations cover a wide range of sectors, including natural resources, aviation, education, payroll administration, procurement, health, sports, utilities, and land management.
Among the high-profile cases is a probe into the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF).
