Lawyers for General Michael Kwadwo Opoku have denied media reports suggesting that he was arrested by National Security operatives.
A statement signed by Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo demanding a retraction and apology from the publishers described the publication seeking to link the respected serviceman to a stockpile of ammunition.
The demand notice reads in part, " We act as solicitors for Brigadier General Michael Kwadwo Opoku and write pursuant to his instructions." Our client's attention has been drawn to a defamatory publication on your online news portal in which you published that our client was arrested following a National Security Operation, which led to the discovery of ammunition.
We wish to bring to your attention that our client has not been involved in any such incident.
