The Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as Ridge Hospital, has responded to a viral video showing a clash between its emergency ward staff and a group that included a well-known social media activist, according to a graphic.com.gh report on August 18.
The incident reportedly began with delays in treating a critically injured patient; a situation which quickly escalated into shouting and physical assault of a nurse.
The issue forced hospital officials to call the Ghana Police Service to help calm the situation.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Juliana Hariwa, the hospital confirmed that the incident happened while medical staff were handling several emergency cases at the same time.
