The Berekum Traditional Council in the Bono Region says the Kingmakers have successfully selected the rightful candidate to occupy the Berekum Paramount stool.
The stool became vacant two years after the death of the late Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II, the Paramount Chief of the Berekum Traditional Area, on June 9, 2023, at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital.
He was known in private life as Dr Leonard Ofori, a German trained medical practitioner.
Osabarima Nana Agyeman Asomah Sabi II, the Krontrihene (sub-chief) of the Berekum Traditional Council, said the rightful candidate would be outdoored soon and urged the people to remain calm.
