The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, led a solemn delegation from the football fraternity to pay their final respects to eight distinguished Ghanaians who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash.

The state funeral, held at the Independence Square in Accra on Friday, August 15, 2025, brought together a cross-section of the nation in a moving display of unity and mourning.

President John Dramani Mahama, Vice-President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, senior government officials, members of the security services, traditional leaders and representatives from various professional bodies all gathered to honour the memory of the fallen.

President Simeon-Okraku was joined by General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo,  senior GFA executives, staff members and officials from football clubs across the country.
