Rita Omane Boamah, the wife of the late Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, shared touching memories of their life together at the final funeral rite at the Black Star Square.
In a tribute read on her behalf at the final funeral rite on August 15, 2025, she recalled meeting her husband for the first time on a Medical School bus.
She also reminisced about their favourite night walks to buy kenkey and fish, describing them as moments that deepened their bond.
Recounting moments when he was alive, he often asked me, "Abena Rita what will you do when I am not around". "I never answered and till today I don't have an answer." Dr Omane Boamah was one of eight people who died in the Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region on August 6, 2025.
