Images have emerged from the solemn state burial of six of the eight patriots who perished in the Wednesday, August 6, 2025, tragic military helicopter crash at Adansi in the Ashanti Region, as Ghana comes together in grief to honour their memories.

The funeral service, being held at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra from 7:30 AM on August 15, 2025, is expected to draw members of the nation's leadership, bereaved families, members of the Ghana Armed Forces and citizens from across the country to mourn.

The victims were part of a delegation travelling to Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) on August 6, 2025, when the Ghana Armed Forces' Z9 helicopter went down in what President John Dramani Mahama described as an "unpredictable and violent" crash.

The six being buried on Friday, August 15, are Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence; Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress; Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Ghana Air Force; Flying Officer Malin Twum-Ampadu, Ghana Air Force; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, also of the Ghana Air Force.
