Member of Parliament Sam George has expressed concern over what he describes as Multichoice Ghana's unwillingness to address the growing problem of cross-border piracy affecting its DSTV service in Ghana.

According to him, despite several engagements, the company has shown no commitment to tackling the issue. "I said to DSTV, deal with cross-border piracy, and they tell me this is not something they can do anything about," he said.

Mr George stressed that the implications go beyond just market control, noting that the state loses potential revenue when such devices are imported and operate outside official channels. "Because you see, there are revenue lines as well for the state on devices that are located in the country.
