Ghanaian coach Kwesi Appiah masterminded one of the biggest shocks of CHAN PAMOJA 2024 as his Sudan side thrashed Nigeria 4–0 in Zanzibar to reach the quarter-finals with a game to spare.

Sudan, disciplined and ruthless throughout, struck first in the 25th minute when Abdel Raouf Yagoub's shot rebounded off the post and deflected in off Nigerian defender Leonard Ngenge.

Captain Walieldin Khdir doubled the lead from the penalty spot just before half-time after Ngenge handled in the box.

After the break, Appiah's men tightened their grip.
