President has announced the creation of a special fund to support the children of the eight people who lost their lives in the fatal helicopter crash at Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

He made this known during the funeral rites of the Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator in charge of Human Security, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. "It's a difficult calamity because if you look at all those who died, they were at the prime of their lives and had so much responsibility, children still in school, and some even with infants as young as two months.

The pilot's child is only two months old, and these responsibilities are what we have to take up to ensure that the absence of the parents does not adversely affect the innocent children. "At the funeral on Friday, August 15, we will announce the creation of a fund that will assist with their education so that anyone who wishes to contribute towards the future of the children they've left behind will have the opportunity to do so," he remarked.

The helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, claimed the lives of several high-ranking government officials and military personnel, including the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah; the Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; and Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna.
