The Minister of Foreign Affairs, , has paid the medical bills of children currently admitted at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
According to him, he also covered the medical expenses of a baby who required urgent surgery after suffering burns that put her life at risk.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Ablakwa said the gesture - made on his birthday - was in honour of his friend, the late Dr Edward Omane Boamah, who served as Minister of Defence and had previously worked at the medical facility. "It is only appropriate and courteous that I offer my sincerest gratitude to you all for your kind birthday wishes yesterday - even though our heavy hearts and state of profound sorrow could certainly not have made it possible for a joyous commemoration. "In honour of my brother, confidante and ally, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, I solemnly observed the day by paying the medical bills of children on admission at the 37 Military Hospital including that of a baby in need of urgent surgery due to life-threatening burns.
Dr Omane Boamah has previously worked at the 37 Military Hospital," he wrote.
