President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt E.S Okraku has expressed regrets over the Black Stars 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification failure.
For the first time in 20 years, the four-time African champions will not be competing in the prestigious continental tournament after finishing last in Group F.
Ghana's qualification campaign ended with three draws and three losses from six matches.
Reflecting on the team's poor performance at the 31st Ordinary Congress of the Ghana FA, Okraku expressed disappointment, while tipping the team to secure qualification to the 2026 World Cup tournament to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year. "Though we regretfully missed out on AFCON 2025, the Black Stars remain on track for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification in USA, Canada and Mexico" he told Congress members at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
