The Central East Regional Police Command have arrested two men for allegedly possessing substances believed to be Indian hemp at Gomoa Nyanyano.
The suspects, Eric Nkyeke 30-year-old and Francis Klu, 28-year-old were picked up by a Nyanyano District Police patrol team at about 7:40 am on Monday, August 11, 2025.
In a statement dated August 11, 2025, the suspects were in the process of offloading 519 compressed parcels of the suspected narcotic from a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, registered GS-6849-21, when they were intercepted. "The suspects who were then offloading the said substances from a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck with the registration number GS-6849-21 were arrested and are currently in Police custody and assisting with investigations," the statement said.
The vehicle has been impounded, whiles both suspects are in police custody and assisting with the investigation.
