The Assemblies of God Ghana has paid tribute to the eight individuals who died through the helicopter crash which occurred in the Adansi areas in the Ashanti Region on Wednes­day, August 6, 2025 while on national assignment.They are Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence; Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation; and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Alhaji Limuna Muni­ru Mohammed; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sarpong, National Vice Chairman of the NDC; Samuel Aboagye, former parliamentary candidate,; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Mane Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.The eight were on flight to Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Mining Co-operative Initiative aimed at promoting sustainable mining to curb illegal mining which is polluting the envi­ronment and rivers in the country.The church in a tribute signed by the General Secretary, Rever­end, Dr Ernest Birikorang, and copied to The Ghanaian Times said "The tragedy reminds us, once again, of the fragility of man and the brevity of life."He said it was necessary to pray more as individuals, church and nation, and focus on things of eternal value, and not things of temporary gratification.Rev.

Dr Birikorang said during the First Assemblies of God Pas­tors and Spouses Prayer Retreat, the participants dedicated much time to pray for the bereaved fami­lies and the country as a whole."We thus join the President, John Dramani Mahama, the gov­ernment and the Ghana Armed Forces in consoling the bereaved families, in particular, who are grieving such loss of unspeakable magnitude.

They should take so­lace in the fact that "the Lord heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)," he said.Rev.

Dr Birikorang said As­semblies of God, Ghana was of the view that the semblance of national unity orchestrated by this tragedy "Will continually bind us together, irrespective of our political differences, social class, age bracket, ethnic origins, and religious beliefs.""May the souls of the Gallant Eight rest in perfect peace," he said. BY TIMES REPORTER
