A Volta River Aviation helicopter made an emergency landing on Monday morning August 11, 2025 at Nkawkaw, near the Nkawkaw bypass in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.
According to citinewsroom.com report on August 11, 2025, the aircraft, a Jet A-1 with registration number 9G-AFW, was travelling from Accra to Kumasi when the pilot was forced to land due to poor visibility caused by harsh weather conditions.
Sources at the scene confirmed that the pilot and crew members are safe and unharmed.
The incident occurred just days after another Volta River Aviation helicopter, with registration number 9G-ADW, made an emergency landing at the Presby School Park in Ajumako Kokoben, Central Region.
