A 37-year-old suspected cable thief was brutally beaten and left for dead by irate youths at Ajinba School Junction, near the Takoradi Cemetery in the Western Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect was caught stealing cables on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and was subsequently assaulted by the youths until he was left in critical condition.
The incident has sparked concerns over the growing trend of vigilantism in the area.
Witnesses told OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim that cable thieves have been terrorizing residents, particularly cold store operators, in recent weeks.
