The Acting CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, has addressed criticism surrounding a directive that all prophecies and spiritual insights be delivered to the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations.

Speaking to the development on TV3's New Day on August 11, he said that oppose to the belief that the presidency is seeking to gag prophets from declaring prophecies, it is rather to help the properly engage the religious and clergy to collaboratively avert any bad happenings. "The directive is not an attempt to gag prophets or limit prophecies.

It is an avenue to filter such activities," he said.

The directive which was shared by the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations on August 10, 2025, said, "On behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency , and the Office of the Presidential Envoy, I extend heartfelt appreciation to you and your various denominations for your unwavering spiritual support, intercessory prayers, and sustained leadership in promoting peace, moral integrity, and national unity.
