The government is holding a vigil to honor the eight state officials who lost their lives in a helicopter crash that has plunged the entire nation into mourning.
The event, dubbed "Evening of Reflections and Memorial," will bring together government officials, religious leaders, and other prominent personalities to commiserate with the bereaved families.
The deceased will be laid to rest on August 14, 2025, as part of the government's plan to honor all those who perished in the incident.
Notable individuals who died in the crash include Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence; Alhaji Dr Murtala Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central and former Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology; Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress; Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General of NADMO; Flying Officer Tsum Ampadu of the Ghana Air Force; and Sergeant Ernest Addo, a Ghana Air Force technician.
