The Chief Imam of the Adentan Municipality, Sheikh Mohammed Mutawakil Abubakari, has extended his deepest condolences to President John Dramani Mahama and the nation following the tragic deaths of five distinguished government officials and three gallant officers of the Ghana Air Force.

In a letter dated August 6, 2025 addressed to the President and made available to the media, Sheikh Abubakari expressed profound sorrow on behalf of the Muslim community in Adentan, describing the loss as a national tragedy and a test of collective faith and resilience. "With profound sorrow and complete submission to the divine will of Allah (SWT), I extend our deepest condolences to Your Excellency and the entire nation on the tragic loss of our eight distinguished compatriots," the letter reads.

The fallen government officials include Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Alhaji Dr Mohammed Murtala Ibrahim, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Dr Samuel Sarpong and Samuel Aboagye He commended the government officials for their significant contributions to national development through various portfolios and public service roles.

The three Air Force officers, hailed for their bravery and unwavering commitment to protecting Ghana's sovereignty, are Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Quoting the Holy Quran "To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return" (Quran 2:156) Sheikh Abubakari offered prayers for the departed souls and called on the nation to draw strength from their legacy. "While we grieve their untimely departure, we take comfort in knowing that these patriots served our nation with dedication and honour," he stated.
