The government has announced a 3-day National Mourning in honour of the 8 people who died in the helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, from Thursday, August 7, to Saturday, August 9, 2025.
A statement issued by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications listed the activities to mark the 3-day National Mourning, including a public laying of flowers and lighting of candles ceremony at the Ceremonial Garden at the front of the Presidency, the Jubilee House, on Thursday.
On Friday, August 8, 2025, the public laying of flowers and lighting of candles will continue.
The 3-day mourning will conclude on Saturday with an "Evening of Reflection and Memorials" at the Forecourt of the State House. "Activities will commence on Thursday with a public laying of flowers and lighting of candles.
