Ghanaian forward Prince-Osei Owusu continued his rich vein of form, opening the scoring for CF Montréal in their 2-1 Leagues Cup defeat to Fernando Monarrez's side at Stade Saputo.

The 28-year-old broke the deadlock just after halftime, finishing clinically in the 47th minute after combining with Caden Clark for his second goal of the tournament.

Owusu's well-taken strike — one of his six shots on target in the competition — briefly gave Montréal hope, but defensive lapses allowed the visitors to rally with goals from Emiliano Gomez (58') and Ricardo Marín (89').

Despite the defeat, the Ghanaian forward reinforced his importance to the Canadian side, playing the full 90 minutes and maintaining a 7.16 tournament rating.
