Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, widely known as COKA, has voiced strong concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the Ashanti Region, describing the current climate as marked by "fear, lawlessness, and a breakdown in security enforcement." Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) regional chairman aspirant lamented that what was once a stronghold of peace and political stability has now become a hotbed for violent crime.
According to him, "The Ashanti Region is no longer safe under the NDC government since voted into power.
People are being attacked, businesses are suffering, and the silence from the authorities is deafening." COKA specifically pointed to disturbing incidents in communities such as Asawase and Denase in the Afigya Kwabre North District.
He claimed local reports from residents and opinion leaders paint a grim picture of frequent armed robberies and violent clashes.
