Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has clarified that the prominent individuals he thanked following his release from the Office of the Special Prosecutor's custody were acting in protest of what he termed as "harsh and unreasonable" bail conditions.

According to him, they were opposed to the bail conditions that had been imposed on him, hence sparking criticism from a section of the public.

Speaking on Channel One TV on August 4, 2025, Adom-Otchere added that, in no way, did these individuals support any wrongdoing he has been accused of, nor were they against accountability, as purported by some people. "I have to make this point that all those people who I said thank you to, had expressed concern about my situation.

I have seen some spin on social media claiming that they were supposedly contending that Paul Adom-Otchere has done something wrong, or he is above the law; so, you cannot touch him. "No, they were expressing concern that the bail conditions that the OSP gave were too harsh and unreasonable and actually unknown to the jurisprudence," he clarified.
