The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is hosting the African Health Sovereignty Summit today, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

The summit brings together Africa's political leaders, policymakers, and global health stakeholders to discuss issues of health bordering the African continent.

The landmark initiative will explore bold steps to raise adequate funding to bridge the huge infrastructure gap in the wake of dwindling donor support and policy interventions to subsidise the treatment of deadly chronic diseases, as well as emerging health threats.
