Ghanaian trainer Charles Kwablan Akonnor has targeted domestic dominance with Go Mahia after being appointed as the head coach for the Kenyan giants.

The former Asante Kotoko gaffer has signed a two-year deal ahead of the new football season and will be assisted by Bismark Kobby Mensah and George Owu as the goalkeepers' trainer.

The trio replaces a technical team led by former Kenya international Zebediah "Zico" Otieno, which was dissolved after a disappointing campaign saw Gor Mahia finish second in the 2023/24 Kenya Premier League, falling short of the club's high standards. "I will work closely with all stakeholders to achieve our targets.

Together, we shall ensure this great club wins titles — both locally and continentally," Akonnor declared at his unveiling.
