At least 10 people were injured on Sunday afternoon following a fire outbreak at Ritz Junction in Madina, which escalated into chaos after an armed man allegedly opened fire on bystanders.
In an adomonline.com report on August 4, 2025, it said one of the victims, Ernest Opare, who is currently receiving treatment at the Pentecost Hospital, along with four others, confirmed the incident.
He said he sustained bullet wounds to his forehead, back, and buttocks.
According to Opare, the gunman, identified only as Area, appeared at the scene in a furious state and brandished a pump-action gun. "In the full view of police and fire officers, Area began shooting indiscriminately at people and into the air," he recounted, the report said.
