Ghana police and military forces in a joint operation has arrested a man in Nkwanta on August 1, 2025, for possessing illegal firearms.
According to a report by myjoyonline.com on August 3, 2025, the intelligence-led raid targeted Francis Donkor, 50, who is suspected of being involved in recent violent riots in the area. "Acting on a tip, security forces cordoned off an area near King's Filling Station Down.
A search of Donkor's room uncovered two single-barrel guns and four AAA ammunition rounds," the myjoyonline.com report stated.
He was reportedly taken into custody and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
