Counsel for Paul Adom-Otchere, Lenin Anane Agyei, has refuted claims by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) that his client has been formally charged.
Anane Agyei made the denial a few hours after his client met the new bail conditions set by the OSP and was released on Friday, August 1, 2025, after spending a night in detention.
According to the OSP, Adom-Otchere is being investigated in connection with a revenue assurance contract between the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) and a private firm owned by the proprietor of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
An official release by the OSP disclosed that "(OSP) has interviewed and formally charged the former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited." In sharp contrast, however, lawyer Anane Agyei, one of the legal team members of Adom-Otchere, rubbished the claims that his client has formally been charged as put out by the OSP.
