The Ministry of the Interior has reviewed the curfew hours for the Bawku Municipality and its surrounding communities in the Upper East Region.

The new curfew hours, which takes effect on Thursday, July 31, 2025, will run from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am daily.

The decision was taken on the advice of the National Security Council and enforced through an Executive Instrument as part of ongoing efforts to curb unrest and maintain law and order in the area.

In a statement signed by the Minister of the Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, the government has called on the people of Bawku to remain calm and law-abiding. "We urge the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to exercise restraint and use non-violent means to resolve their differences," the statement issued on Wednesday, July 30 read.
