President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, says the Association is committed to building a competitive and financially sustainable future for domestic football clubs under a new business framework backed by the Adesa deal.

Speaking at the launch of Adesa Productions Limited (APL) as the new production, management, and broadcast partner of the Ghana Premier League, effective from the 2025/26 season. "We are no longer asking our clubs to simply survive.

We are creating an environment where they can compete, grow, and flourish," he said. "One where clubs can not only retain their best players but even attract new ones from beyond our borders." He noted that while Ghana may not yet rival the financial packages of foreign leagues, the Premier League can still offer strong incentives for players to stay. "The talent of Ghanaian players is undisputed.

Why should Ghanaian footballers have to leave to be appreciated, when we can make this league a destination in itself?" Okraku asked. "We may not be able to match the multimillion-dollar deals offered by external clubs, but we can make our clubs so attractive that our players will face a difficult decision when faced with the prospect of leaving Ghana." The GFA's new approach includes guaranteed financial incentives for all participating clubs regardless of final standings. "Whether you place first or twentieth, your effort, your performance, your participation will yield financial benefit," he stated. "This brings meaning to every game and keeps the competitive spirit alive throughout the season." Okraku described the initiative as more than a financial commitment, saying: "This is not a grant.
