Renowned broadcaster Emefa Apawu has revealed that her decision to exit the media space was driven by some factors including the inadequate reward in journalism Speaking on the 'Talk No Dey Cook Rice' podcast, the former Joy FM and Joy News anchor was candid about the factors that led to her transition from newsroom into the corporate world.  Despite public assumptions that her new role was a political appointment under the Mahama-led NDC government, she dismissed that narrative entirely. "It's not an appointment.

I wanted to go, and the opportunity came.

I know the timing makes it look like it's political, but it's not," she clarified.

She said behind the career shift was a story of burnout, sacrifice, and financial strain that comes with journalism in Ghana.
