Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Boateng registered his first goal for MLS outfit San Diego FC in their Leagues Cup game against Mexican giants Pachuca.  The veteran midfielder started a fightback for the Major League Soccer inaugural side after netting in the 88th minute but it was too late as San Diego lost 3-2 at the Snapdragon Stadium.

The 31-year-old, who has already made 11 appearances in the league for San Diego, met a perfectly laid cross from Aiden Harangi to also score his first goal for the club.

The Mexicans got off to a bright start after Victor Guzman opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for Pachuca.

Alexei Dominguez Figuerao doubled the advantage at the stroke of half-time before adding his second after the hour mark.
