The Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, has disclosed that police intelligence gathered so far indicates the shooter who assassinated the Kusasi Chief of the Ashanti Region is believed to be the same individual responsible for the killing of another person.
Speaking on JoyNews on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, DSP Ahianyo said that although no arrests have been made yet, they may soon apprehend the culprits based on the intelligence they have.
He also said that the security situation in Asawase has been strengthened to ensure people's safety. "So far, I must say that we have not made any arrest in respect of the unfortunate shooting incident that happened a couple of days ago in the Asawase area.
But I must say security is very tense and our men are on the ground ensuring that there is absolute peace and safety within the Asawase community," he said.
