The Member of for Salaga South, Zuwera Ibrahimah Mohammed, has urged to pass the Social Protection Bill, 2025, to enhance the delivery of social services to vulnerable groups in Ghana.

Speaking during the second reading of the bill in on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the MP emphasized its importance in addressing gaps in existing social intervention programs.

The proposed Social Protection Bill aims to provide a legal framework for social protection initiatives, targeting vulnerable populations such as persons with disabilities, the homeless, and those living in chronic poverty.

It also seeks to establish a dedicated unit to manage the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program, ensuring accountability and transparency in its operations.
