The Asantehene, , has issued a stern warning to the kingmakers of the Asante Mampong stool on the selection of the next Asante Mamponghene.
Speaking at the Asanteman Council meeting on Monday, July 28, 2025, the Asantehene issued the guidelines that are to be followed for the selection of the next Asante Mamponghene.
The king indicated that after the paramount queen mother and kingmakers of the Mamponghene settle on the candidate to be the next Mamponghene, the name of the person must be submitted to a committee of chiefs he has set up.
The members of the committee include the Akuamuhene, Adontenhene, Ankobiahene, and the paramount chief of Nifa-Afigyase.
